The only two great sets of the night were Mayday Parade and Pierce the Veil. I wasn’t really expecting much from All Time Low because I never really liked their music, but I didn’t think it would make me so angry. Let me tell you about shit I’m not okay with: it is beyond disgusting to come to a show and see a band like All Time Low take the stage and start their set by BEGGING the girls in the crowd to meet them after the show and give them blowjobs, and then later beg us to let them give us their “man lotion.” And be serious about it. There is no musician out there who is talented enough to deserve the right to say stupid shit like that TO THEIR FANS. Any ounce of respect I ever had for them is completely gone. But otherwise, tonight was pretty great. Thanks for turning the night around, PTV! Now on the hunt for TDWP… (at SOMA)

So I caved and finally bought it. Hahaha.

For those who don’t know: LIGHTS released SIBERIA Acoustic yesterday. Shortly before it released she shared her collaboration with Adam Young of Owl City on her acoustic version of Cactus in the Valley, and I was pretty disappointed. I personally thought it could have been done better without him. So I decided not to get it. But then she went to Inuvik, and then previewed the record on CBC Radio, and I just couldn’t take it anymore. I have a problem haha.

Anyway, the record’s pretty awesome. The guest french vocals in Peace Sign by Coeur de Pirate, the humming harmonies in Heavy Rope, and the Cello accompaniment— no shame, no regrets, worth every penny. And I love that she does this for every record she puts out. Because it not only shows off her true talent, but also how versatile and unafraid she is of being seen in a different light. Any record that can be stripped down and redone without all the extra production is a winner in my book.

Where the Fence is Low is currently my favorite. Story behind it: the lyrics are based on a recurring dream/nightmare she kept having about a place she kept returning to. She claims it was one of the scariest places, but she liked it because of that. Once she wrote the song, the dream never came back.

Lol this wasn’t supposed to turn into a confession of my obsessive love for LIGHTS. But I feel like this always happens when you get me going about her XD so yeah, get Siberia Acoustic. It’s great.
